2008 Appilique and Stitcheries Swap

Last year I was in an applique and Stitchery swap and I have finally gotten round to putting them all together. I think it looks great. I want to thank all the ladies that contributed to my newest quilt.
Have just looked at this, and the photo is not the best, so when my batteries for the camera are charged I will try and take a better one.

Acorn Gatherers

Nearly forgot, I have also been doing a swap for the Acorn gatherers, this one is for a little girl in Perth. Her mum Rachel said that she loves my little pony, so this is my effort.

Today is Opening Day for the Bag/Tote swap, and here is mine and also the one I made for Ann (quiltapatch)

This is the lovely bag that Ann sent me.

And here is the one that went to Ann, I seem to have forgotten to take a picture of the other side

Vicki's Give away

This is just for Vicki, because lol she does not look a bit like me, much too slim.

Cushions

I have been busy lately making these two. Every year i accompany my mother-in-law to visit some of her relatives, so I basically get a free few days away. Each year i make something for these relies, for having me. These are my contribution this year. I found the pattern in a magazine that came as a free one. I love them. I just have to buy one more cushion insert to go with it.

Pretty Basket

It has been a while since I have put something in here, not because I have not been making anything, but because I have so many things going at once that nothing has been finished. But...... yesterday while going through my emails I found this little basket, and I just had to make it. It is only supposed to take an hour, but I think it took me slightly longer because I stuffed the edges of the binding with doll wading, and that was a little fiddly. But I like how it turned out, I have 16 little divisions on the sides instead of 12 as it says in the instructions, and no handles. The pattern for this basket can be found at Angies Bits 'n Pieces.

Little toiletry bag

While browsing the web I found this lovely little toiletry bag, at the Joy Patch site, just had to make it, I had everything on hand, except the right sized zip, so I just cut down a longer one. I all turned out fine.

A Lovely gift

This not very good photo shows what Crafty Clare gave me when we visited. I am nearly certain I will use the teddy print in the new babies quilt, when I get round to making them. I keep having ideas and then change my mind. It was hard enough trying to decide what to make for one baby let alone two. Decisions, decisions.......

Thank you Clare, I am still overwhelmed.

Thursday, March 26, 2009

I have been working on a braid with my stash, I had it all sewn together and ready to put on the outer border and something was not right, so I unpicked. While unpicking inspiration hit, and after a bit of cutting and turning this is part of what I ended up with. I will not show the whole quilt until it is totally finished.

Fabric

Last week I was looking for a piece of fabric, and I knew it was there somewhere but I just could not find it, (it was in a safe place). So.......... I decided that my fat quarters needed sorting, and here is the result, I ended up buying a new plastic box to put them in, it is about half an inch too big to fit properly on the top of my tea trolley. I have decide that it would not be a good idea to count them, because then I might have to work out how much I spent.

Bags, Bags

This is one of the first bags that I made with applique, I made it for my self from a pattern which I altered out of a magazine, unfortunately I can't remember which magazine it was.

This is the other side, the original did not have this side it had writing

Here is another one, I had all these bits of blue fabric, so I joined them all up, this is also out of a magazine and again I can't remember which, also again I changed it to suit what I had.

And the latest one, this was made out of all my 2 1/2 inch squares, this time no pattern just out of my head, it is round base and has outside pockets for all those goodies
