Doily Cushion

I have been experimenting with doilies, a TV show a while back was the inspiration for this one. An old doiley purchased at Vinnies, well washed and iron, then I marked two diagonal lines on the doiley and zigzagged either side of that, then rotary cut into four. I was quite impressed with it.

Row by Row Round Robin

Last year in March I joined the forum at Craft Magazine, I have joined in a lot of swaps on this forum and thoroughly love doing them. The latest one is a row by row round robin, the first row being made by the eventual owner of the rows (quilt).

I was very good I actually took some photos along the way. I found a celtic pattern that I really liked on my EQ6, but it was for appliquing, and I wanted to peice it instead, so I redrew the pattern and this is the outcome.

Mum's Birthday

My Mother celebrated her 84th Birthday this week, and this was my contribution, I thought it was fitting, my mum came to Australia in the early 1950's and settled here, she loves Australia.

The quilt is from Australian country threads Vol 4 No's 9 and 10, and is called "Home among the Gum Trees"

Tassie Trip

In 2007 I went to visit my son and his new family in Tasmania, the Paisley fabric in the quilt was picked up there, so in all this one took just over 12 months to complete, I must admit though that it probably took 9 months to get around to the quilting. It is only quilted in the ditch. I have put polar fleece on the back, so it is only a two layer quilt.
