I found a pattern on the net on doing flying geese in a circle, click
here, I really wanted to try it, and I had heaps of black so that became the background, I used scraps (again) as the geese themselves. When it was finished I decided I had to make something out of it, so after digging a bit I found more scraps of the same fabric and got just enough to make the border and the prairie points.
I am happy with it, I used a pale blue heavier than normal thread (sorry no idea what it was there was no label and I have had it forever) as the quilting thread and went 1/4 inch off the ditch.
I really like the pattern, but it is a lot of fiddling and there is a lot of wastage.
