Carolina Lady in Yellow

And here is my next swap, I think she is gorgeous, the yellow fabric in the dress came from the US with my daughter, and the green is my favourite green of all of them because it fits with just about every thing. ( Actually I am down to my last little bit of it and I saw that the local shop has some so I am going to get more.)

This swap is for Purpled 2, Hope Bec likes her as much as I do!

A quilt like this may have to go on my to do list, I can just imagine all the ladies in their different colour frocks.

Row by row round robin

And here is Duchess's 5th row, I am very pleased with how this turned out. Mind you I did a lot of talking to this fabric, Just had to remind it who was boss. The heart I made out of little off cuts sewn onto very fine fabric and then I just cut out the shape and sewed it down with blanket stitch on my machine. This is the first time that I have tried that stitch. ( I did practice first though.)

Acorn Gathers Swap

Here is a group picture of all the blocks I have received so far from the Acorn Gatherers Swap. I love them all.

Row by Row Round Robin

At the moment I am involved in a swap on the Craft Magazines Online Forum , It is a round robin row by row swap, we make our first row, put up a picture of it and then our Journal down the line till it eventually comes home again. I have previously put up a picture of my first row, so I thought it was high time I put in pictures of the ones that some one else has made for me.

Of course I have also made a few for some of the other girls in the swap group.

This was made for Vicki ( I think I should have ironed it before I took the photo)

This one was for Piecemaker ( this time I ironed and then took the photo with a flash)

And one for Linda. I was especially pleased with how this turned out as I have never tried drunkards path before and it was reasonably easy.
I am in the process of making the next one for Duchess, it is getting there, so far I have two of the blocks completed, with three to go. I am using EQ6 for the blocks and I am having some issues with them.

A slow day.

So what have I done today? Absolutely zilch, another one of those no inspiration days, I have cleaned up and fixed this blog though, clicked on everything on here that was clickable and figured some of them out. I am not totally sure what I did to put in the slide show, but lol it works so I will leave it be.

On another note I have, yesterday, finished cutting out and ironing down the third centre block for the latest quilt.

Here are the first two, not the best photo, but they are pinned to my curtains (my design wall). This is a design by Susan Murphy called Celebrate the Harvest. It is in Volume 17 no's 5 and 6 of AP&Q

Braid

I keep a basket at the back of my sewing machine where all my left over bits land, every so often I do a sort and cleanup, usually when the basket is overflowing. This time I decided that any thing over 1 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches long was going to get used. So I made five braids, of 100 strips each, these have joined together with black calico. It still needs something else though, so at the moment it is hanging on my design wall for me to contemplate. It will come to me eventually.

Acorn Gathers Swap

This is a block I made for Shopperdeb from the forum that I belong to, the pattern (which I changed) came from an old Australian Country Threads Magazine.

My Last Baby leaves Home.

This is Louie sitting on my husbands lap, He loved riding round on the wheel chair. Louie went to his new home in Tasmania last week. I am pretty sure that he has his new owners under control.

Table runner in Greens with 6 place mats

I experimented and made this table runner, it is very long and I don't have a table that it will fit, I also made six matching place mats.
I used all the greens that I could find a large enough piece of and piled them all on top of each other and then just sliced at random. The runner I just joined the bits back up again after moving one half of the top section to the bottom of the pile and then starting all over again with the slicing.

For the place mats I put in the black because the original rectangles of green were just that bit too small to be place mat size. I used track suit fabric on the backs of these, with the fleecy side out.

News Flash

I am to be the Grandma of Twins, its official. So of course now I need to make two baby cot quilts and two big kid quilts (which can wait a bit) What am I going to do??? The parents to be are not going to find out what sex the babies will be, i don't blame them in the least for that, but it would make it so much easier. I have been checking all my regular spots for inspiration, but have not come up with much so far.
