Wonder who thought of this.

OK I am going to try again, I was making my Row by Row that Cheryl and I are doing and came across this. A new way (for me anyway) of doing flying geese.

What I have done over the long weekend.

A while ago while I was blogging I came across a blog (unfortunately I can't remember whose it was) with a quilt for kids on it. This is an orgainisation in the states that supplies fabric to quilters to make up for children in hospital that are there for long periods. I sent them an email and because I am in Australia they would not send the fabric to me. So........ I got onto my other lovely daughter who is living in the states at the moment and she got the fabric sent to her and then sent it on to me. Last week I got an enormous parcel in the mail. (I am still happy dancing about it). In it was the fabric for the quilt plus lots more.

where has the time gone

well it seems to be over a month since I was here last, what have I been doing? I guess if I don't know nobody does. I will try and get it all in the right order.

Row by Row

This is the March row. It is a Shamrock

Placemat number three

The top two photos are the of the placemat I made for Gail, I made this double sided.

The bototm photo is of the placemat I received from Petunia ( Barb) she did an amazing job, I absolutely love this one.

What to do now

I haven't posted in here for ages, and it is not because I haven't been doing anything, it is just that nothing is finished, I have started four different quilts since February, one is ready to quilt, one still needs "something" (not sure what yet) and at the moment I'm working on a big bed quilt for each of the twins.
I am also occasionally going and doing a few rows on the quilting frame, I was there just a little while ago and going great, when the light on the machine flickered, went out, came back and died. Now the machine will not go at all. Why oh why have they included the light in the circuit to make the machine go (I hope this is all that is wrong with it) the globe is a tiny little thing that I will have to buy a replacement for, not the least bit like the spare globe I have for my other machine. Darn!!!! Why does this always happen when I am going good.

That Challenge

Here is the next row.

Swaps

The two place mats that I have made for the "Placemat and Table runner swap" (two bottom photos) and the place mat I recieved from lucky and lastly the "acorn gatherers swap" from Petunia. (top)

Experimenting

I was experimenting with a block, so I just used what came out of the stash. So it was not wasted I made it into a pilow case for my sons big pillow that he has on his bed

The two black objects to the top left are Millie and Jade, I can't get the camera out without a poodle or two turning up.

a bit of a challenge

Cheryl from Chegres Confabs and I are challenging ourselves to do and finish a row by row quilt from Claudia's Quilt shop.
It is a free block/row of the month. Now this is not hard, the hard part is we will not buy any new fabric for this, it all has to come out of the stash. So far so good.

A Nice Feeling.

Today is my neighbours Birthday, and he is such a kind good neighbour, the type everyone wants. (I am so lucky) As some of you may know my husband has MS, and is pretty much bedridden, so anything that needs doing is up to me or my son. So when there is something that we cannot handle on our own, my neighbour comes and gives a hand. I could tell you to handfuls of things that he has helped me with, for no payment what so ever. So today I thought I will give him one of my quilts. He was so happy with it, and I am happy it has found a home. It has also gained a name, "Brian's Quilt"

The UFO

For Months now I have had a nine patch hanging on the curtains near my machine, waiting for inspiration to hit. The last photo is what it originally looked like, followed by what it became. somehow I got the photos in in the reverse order.
It is going to be a doona cover, I will put some thin on the back, probably sheeting, quilt it and then add another backing to make it into a doona cover, It WILL fit my bed
